Energizing the Natural, Healthy Way

By January 10, 2015June 9th, 2020No Comments

ExerciseMornings can be tough, and many people resort to caffeine and sugar to perk up for work. But too much can have some negative effects on your health. Ready to start energizing more naturally to preserve your health? There are two great methods to try.

Exercise

The idea of waking up to work out before the day even begins is enough to make many people cringe. But even if you’re not a morning person, a little bit of exercise goes a long way. Physical activity gets your blood flowing and releases endorphins, which helps wake up your body and increase your energy levels. Start small by waking up 10 minutes early and doing calisthenics before hopping into the shower. An added bonus: jumping jacks and pushups can be done in your pajamas!

Diet

There are plenty of natural foods that provide you with a jolt of healthy energy. Try eating the following items instead of gulping down several mugs of sweetened coffee.

  • Honey: Take a spoonful of honey for a time-released dose of sweet fuel. Honey also helps replenish muscles after exercising.
  • Apples: An apple a day keeps the morning blues away! Apples are full of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and glucose, which all work to give you a boost of energy that is sustained longer than the energy provided by most beverages.
  • Eggs: Scrambling a few eggs in the morning is a great source of protein and B-vitamins, which help to convert food into instant energy.
  • Bananas: Easy to throw into your purse or briefcase, bananas are full of fructose, sucrose and glucose, which provides your body with a natural, healthier source of sugar.

Think you’ve been consuming too much sugar to wake up lately? Your doctor can examine your bloodwork to determine if that’s the case. Switching to natural sources of energy helps your body stay healthier year-round.
